Andy MacRae, B.Sc (Honours)

From his home base in Calgary, Alberta, Andy works with leading organizations on issues ranging from executive level search to leadership succession planning, particularly in the energy sector. He has been on the WaterSMART board since 2010.

Andy currently works at Russell Reynolds Associates where he is a senior member of the firm’s Energy and Industrial Natural Resources Sectors. Prior to this position, he spent seven years with IBM as a Partner, where he led the Energy Consulting practice across Canada. He has also held several other senior consulting roles within IBM and PwC Consulting, where he focused on domestic and international consulting engagements in strategic planning, business optimization and post-merger integration in the oil and gas, utilities and mining sectors. In addition to consulting, Andy has over 16 years of corporate experience at Petro-Canada (now Suncor Energy).

Andy received his B.Sc in Economics from University of Guelph.

Having grown up on a farm and now working with an industry where water is a scarce and highly valuable resource, Andy is passionate about supporting smarter water usage. His involvement in WaterSMART is about finding ways to improve water access and quality to help businesses and individuals reduce their water footprints.
