CALGARY (October 8, 2021) – The Founder and CEO of WaterSMART Solutions, Kim Sturgess, has recently been featured in the Women in Energy Transformation project for her outstanding contributions to sustainability in the resource sector through improved water management practices.

The transition to clean energy means reducing energy use through better management of water and wastewater
“Kim Sturgess says water people are born, and she is one of them. Her interest in the conservation of water led the highly honoured engineer to start WaterSMART Solutions Ltd., a Calgary company that improves the management of water to support sustainable economic development. Kim says, as a water person, the transition to clean energy means reducing energy use (and the resulting GHGs) through better management of water and wastewater, and tackling climate change that is causing more severe weather events. As her career transitions to a new phase, Kim says her thoughts have turned to what the resource sector will look like in 2050 and how to reach the science-based goals that will support a healthy environment. She is working on that roadmap.”
