The Advancing Natural Infrastructure Forum hosted by WaterSMART Solutions Ltd., the International Institute for Sustainable Development, and the Natural Assets Initiative (NAI) brought together a diverse group of experts, passionate about the future of natural infrastructure and sustainable water management.
Key highlights:
💧 Water treatment and supply projects across the Prairies are addressing water infrastructure needs, flood and drought protection. Momentum is growing for implementing natural infrastructure, in urban and rural communities.
🌎 Consider green and grey infrastructure options. The need to demonstrate the social, environmental, and economic benefits of natural infrastructure to decision-makers has never been more important.
📜 Natural infrastructure can be used to address intersecting societal challenges, and provincial, local, and Indigenous governments have a role to play in protecting our future.
