Description
June 2013 will be remembered across Alberta as the month of the Great Flood which resulted in the loss of four lives, displaced thousands from their homes, disrupted hundreds of businesses, and caused significant damage to private and public property, land and infrastructure.

A broad group of water practitioners from across Alberta, Canada and the world have participated in developing this paper. Collectively they have identified specific actions that can be taken to mitigate, manage, and control the impacts of extreme weather events resulting in floods and the inevitable opposite condition of severe drought.
