From a starting point as the Bow River Technical Working Group, to the diverse collaborative group formed following the 2013 flood, WaterSMART has been supporting the Bow River Working Group for 10 years. Through facilitating meetings and supporting modelling exercises, WaterSMART is instrumental in the efforts to balance the management of the Bow River watershed from ‘headwaters to confluence.’
The Working Group is comprised of a committee of experts representing diverse industries, government departments and communities. You can read about this work on the WaterSMART website.
To learn more about the projects the Group is working on that will help mitigate the risks of floods and droughts, see the recent article in the Western Producer.
